Does Saline Tattoo Removal Hurt?
By Cristina, NVQ Level 4 Aesthetic Therapist
Most clients describe saline tattoo removal as similar to getting the original tattoo — a manageable level of discomfort rather than sharp pain.
How much discomfort you feel depends on a few things: the treatment area (eyebrows and other delicate areas can feel more sensitive than, say, a forearm), and your own individual pain tolerance, which varies a lot from person to person.
One exception is emergency removal, treating a tattoo within 12 to 24 hours of getting it done. Because the skin is already freshly tattooed and in an active healing state, treating it again so soon can feel more tender than a standard session.
We'll always talk through what to expect for your specific tattoo or brows at your consultation, so there are no surprises on the day.
